Almost finished at this stage we were almost finished with the renovations and were living in the farmhouse not the caravan. Our issue now was that we were broke. Spent all our money on the house renovations with none left for treats. Or even furniture! At the time I was working permanent nights and Adie worked days so there was always cover for the boys. However the journey to Bangor four times a day (there and back for each of us) was getting tiresome, added to which as mentioned, we felt broke having spent all our reserves on the farm. No mortgage but no cash, so we decided to take out a mortgage and move nearer to Bangor at least on the main road.

We settled in Benlech and enjoyed a few years near the sea. Routine went on for a year or two but then Ferranty where I worked went up in smoke one night. I had been working nights here after I realized my dream of self sufficiency was just that, a dream. Its worth noting I had been painting the coin boxes used in public call boxes as they came off the production line - over 200,000 of those I recon.
I was lucky in that I was one of the few people not layed off. I did keep working but as I had already been made redundant several times I felt very unsettled. Mom was living in South Africa and was telling me how good it was and how well I would get on out there. So I applied for jobs in the tabloids. Whoa I got a job at Lindsay Saker in Jo'berg so we upped sticks and went.
Culture Shock! We had come from this idylic holiday island, where the journey to work had the sun setting behind the mountains. Vast open sea vistas, walks by the beach or on the many coast paths to what I can only describe as a souther hemisphere New York. I never settled and once it became clear the boys would be required to do national Service we came home.

Fron Gaer is now a very stylish bed and breakfast. Much extended by each succesive new owner.
You can now visit Fron Gaer any time you like and enjoy the many wonderful places on Anglesey.
So to finish we are back in the UK and no home and no job. Obviously there is so much more to go in this narrative like going back to work at Toyota, working for Martin McFadden again, going back to panel beating. Tearing my Achiles tendon and ending up going of to university in my late fourties but I feel this site has run its course. The more I continue its development the more repeated code and hence more issues.
I didn't feel like completly starting again and dumping this site so with a different emphasis I have started with a new paradigm. If you fancy try THIS.
So that's it for this site; over now to the 'wayback machine'.
